A psychologist is a doctoral-level licensed mental health professional who undergoes thousands of hours of advanced training in human behavior, emotional functioning, and evidence-based treatment approaches. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can help if you feel overwhelmed, low, struggle in relationships, experience difficulty coping with stress, or just want to understand yourself better. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy for personal growth and self-awareness.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, history, and treatment goals. We’ll discuss what brings you in, what you hope to achieve, and how we might work together. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions to determine whether we’re a good fit.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your treatment goals and individual needs. Some people benefit from shorter-term therapy while others prefer longer-term work for deeper exploration and lasting change.

How often will we meet?

Weekly sessions are most common, however, frequency is adjusted depending on clinical need.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I provide courtesy billing for Empire NYSHIP members and monthly superbills for reimbursement. Check your insurance benefits here.
